ADSEAL ERD-530
Product Description
ADSEAL ERD-530 is a Cresyl Glycidyl Ether (CGE), a mono-functional aromatic reactive diluent designed to reduce the viscosity of epoxy resin systems while imparting improved chemical resistance and higher reactivity compared to aliphatic glycidyl ethers.
ERD-530 chemically incorporates into the epoxy network during cure, leaving no volatile organic residues. Its aromatic structure contributes to enhanced rigidity, improved Tg retention, and superior chemical resistance in the cured system — making it particularly suited for industrial coatings, laminates, electrical potting, and high-performance adhesives.
Typical Properties
All values measured at 25 °C unless stated otherwise. Typical values — not to be used as specification limits.

Recommended Applications
Industrial Coatings
Reduces viscosity while improving chemical resistance and hardness in solvent-free industrial coating systems.
Electrical Potting & Encapsulation
Enables low-viscosity formulations with good electrical insulation properties for electronic component encapsulation.
Laminates & Composites
Improves resin infusion and wet-out in fibre-reinforced composite and laminate systems.
High-Performance Adhesives
Adjusts rheology and enhances chemical resistance in structural and industrial adhesive formulations.
Concrete Primers & Coatings
Aids substrate penetration and improves adhesion in concrete priming and protective coating applications.
Tooling & Casting Resins
Reduces mix viscosity for improved mould filling and surface detail reproduction in tooling applications.
Usage Guidelines
| Recommended Loading | 5–15 phr (parts per hundred resin), depending on target viscosity and performance requirements. |
| Compatibility | Compatible with standard bisphenol-A and bisphenol-F liquid epoxy resins. Test compatibility before use in novel formulations. |
| Effect on Pot Life | Slight increase in pot life due to dilution effect. Adjust hardener loading accordingly. |
| Effect on Tg | Aromatic structure provides better Tg retention compared to aliphatic diluents. Suitable for applications requiring moderate-to-high Tg. |
| Mixing | Add ERD-530 to the epoxy resin component (Part A) and mix thoroughly before adding the hardener. |
| Processing Temperature | 15–40 °C recommended for optimal flow and cure. |
